Movies

I love watching movies. And I watch a lot of them—ranging from Bollywood flicks to spaghetti westerns to arthouse cinema. However, I think Hollywood movies strike the balance between artistry and entertainment. Movies, I think, can touch someone’s heart and move them in ways other mediums of communication cannot as they are the perfect combination of reality and fiction. I have had many ‘eureka’ moments while watching movies and thoroughly enjoy a fellow human being experiencing the same.

For a long time The Shawshank Redemption was at the top my personal list of best movies but recently that spot got taken by ‘Fight Club’. But my all time favorite shot is still when Andy crawls through the pipe full of shit, comes out and spreads out his hands looking up.

Akira Kurosawa, Satyajit Ray, Stanley Kubrick, Francis Ford Coppola (and there are so many more in this list!) are some of my favorite directors.

I started a movie club at my school where a movie was screened every month.

Haven’t tried my hands at making a movie yet but would love to!
